Guide section 1
1. Define the manufacturing problem before the consultant profile
A clear problem statement attracts more relevant specialists and makes proposals easier to compare.
State the current condition
Describe the product or process, current capacity, site status, equipment, operating pattern and the issue you are trying to solve.
Define the target outcome
Examples include higher throughput, lower waste, a new line, a plant concept, better quality, vendor selection or a documented scale-up plan.
Set scope boundaries
Clarify whether you need diagnosis only, engineering deliverables, vendor coordination, on-site implementation, commissioning or ongoing support.
List hard constraints
Include budget, space, utilities, shutdown windows, target dates, regulatory requirements and equipment or supplier constraints.
